IDFA Athlete, Olivia McGuire, Featured in Oxygen Magazine
March, 2007

Oxygen magazine's "Motivation" section features IDFA Athlete, Olivia McGuire, in an article called "You've Got to be Kidding Mom!" (page 114). The story speaks of Elena McGuire, Olivia's daughter, who couldn't beleive her ears when her mother wanted to become a figure competitor.

"When my mom first told me that she was going to compete, I nearly died," recalls Elena, explaining that her mom didn't even let on that she had signed up for her first competition because she was afraid she'd chicken out at the last minute.

Although the teenager has always had a close relationship with her mother, Olivia – in part due to the death of her father when she was just three years old – they are even closer now.

Read more about Olivia and her "coach" Elena in this compelling story. The support of family and friends is invaluable in this sport. It can be the souce of great motivation and helps get you through the ups and downs of competition.
